For as long as I can remember, way back into the recesses of childhood memory, I have been a Giant Food Stores customer. It is where my mom always did her weekly food shopping, and my dad even worked in the deli as a part time job when I was in middle school.
I love a lot of things about Giant, which makes it hard for me to shop elsewhere. I love that every Giant Food Store has the same layout. So when I walk in to my local Giant or one on the other side of the county, I know exactly where to find everything I'm looking for because the layout right down to the aisles are pretty much the same. I've also found it's hard to beat the everyday prices and the great weekly deals at Giant.
With a lifetime of grocery shopping, I've become familiar with the Giant Food Stores brand. Over the years, I've taken to incorporating the Giant brand (Own Brand) into my shopping, usually opting to buy that over the national brand. Yes, it is almost always a better deal financially.
I also read the labels. I made the switch to Giant Food Stores brand unsweetened applesauce because it was one of the ONLY applesauce brands on the shelf that didn't have high fructose corn syrup. Yes, I turned and looked at every 6 pack of applesauce to find that out! Their store brand "just add water" pancake mix because it was one of the few without hydrogenated oil.

Giant's Own Brand products go through a testing program (which involves customer feedback) to ensure taste and quality. After processing feedback, Giant Food Stores has reformulated their Own Brand so that it's taste and quality is top-notch while keeping the price affordable.
