Although I don't do it every week, I try to ask the following question on the CSHM Facebook Page on Sunday evenings:
What 3 things are you
most looking forward to this week?
So what a great practice it is to lift our minds out of the muck of anxiety and that pit of dread that sits icily in our stomachs. And instead, move our minds to sunnier, happier thoughts. How healing and empowering it is to purposefully think about the good things in our week, in our lives. Because let's face it people: there is never a week that goes by that good things don't happen.
Good things happen each day, many times a minute, if we just choose to see them.
The laugh of your child.
The kindness of a stranger.
An uplifting email from a dear friend.
A new opportunity.
A quiet night relaxing on the couch with your partner.
A family meal that doesn't end in frustration and tears.
A peaceful car ride down a scenic Autumn road.
Stars filling a crisp night sky.
Lunch with a friend you haven't seen in a long time.
Warm slippers.
Trying a new recipe and it turning out tasty.
A sale on Nutella at your local grocery store.
In the world we live in, it is a difficult thing to remember.
Friends, I want us to remember.
I want us to embrace the good, to revel in hope.
This week, many great things will happen in your life. Right under your nose. Will you choose to see them? To celebrate them? To let them change your heart?
What 3 things are you most looking forward to this week?
