Haribo Smurfs Gummi Candy

I participated in a campaign on behalf of Mom Central Consulting for Haribo. I received product samples, and a promotional item as a thank you for participating.

I have fond memories of going to the movies when I was a kid.

The experience of walking into the vaulted-ceiling room, built around a massive screen and filled with plush seats all to be entertained by the latest movie you'd been dying to see was totally magic to a kid. I'd anticipate it all day, potentially all week, until the time arrived that we'd pack into the car and go to the movie theatre.

It was always super expensive to buy movie treats at the theatre (hello? $6.00 for a small tub of popcorn? Thanks anyway), so we always stopped at the convenience store located next to the theatre. I'd hem and haw over my choices, but it was eventually no contest. The winner 90% of the time were Haribo Gummi Peaches (the other 10% of the time, in case you were wondering, usually went to Hairbo Gummi Bears).

Haribo plays heavily into the sweet nostalgia when I think back on my youth and going to the movies. So you can imagine it was heartwarming to find that in anticipation of the new Smurfs 2 movie, Haribo was debuting their newest gummi confection:

The Smurfs Gummi Candy!

I'm a bit of a sweet-freak. And gummi candy is high on my list of confectionary loves. So I did not hesitate the first night my sample package arrived to try them (after the kids were in bed, of course. Why should I have to share)?  The familiar shapes of Smurfette, Papa Smurf and more filled the bag. And the berry flavor was delectable.

Also? They are gluten free. HOLLA!

The most pressing question, though?

Does Neil Patrick Harris enjoy Smurf Gummi Candy too?

I believe he does, friends. I believe he does.

You can keep up with the confectionary genius that is HariboUSA on Facebook.

And here's a little non-confectionary genius of my own. Enjoy.
