Hey Philly: Welcome Wink Frozen Desserts!

It is no secret that I have a bit of a sweet tooth.
Between my well-documented obsession with Nutella or the claim that Ice Cream is my kryptonite (guilty as charged), I just can't get around the sweet stuff. Which is...directly opposed to my continued Journey toward Healthfied (which includes doing my best to be more aware of refined foods and sugar intake).
A conflict, to be sure.
While I have come up with some suitable "healthified" dessert options, there is nothing that compares to a nice creamy bowl of ice cream. AMIRIGHT?
So what's a girl to do?
Well, a girl discovers Wink Frozen Desserts.
A dessert that claims to be a healthier option for health-conscious and allergy-suffering people. No dairy. No nuts. No gluten. No eggs. No soy. No GMO's. No sugar. On their webpage, they share that, "Wink's goal is to provide dieters, diabetics, celiacs and those intolerant to lactose, nuts, eggs and soy the pleasure of a ice cream filled life."
They had my attention.
(YAY! MUCH REJOICING!)
Said girl then initially learns that said desserts are not available in her area.
(SADNESS AND DESPAIR)
Then said girl finds a few months later that that said dessert is suddenly available in the Philadelphia area.
Ok, enough of "the girl."
I recently had a chance to try out Wink Frozen Desserts, since finding their products are available in Philly. One afternoon I arrived home to find the delivery box on my doorstep. The desserts came packed in a cooled box, so there was no worry about meltage.
But enough about the packaging.
On to the DESSERT!
For me, there are 2 important factors in a good dessert: TASTE and TEXTURE. Wink Frozen Desserts are spot on. Somehow without the use of milk (this is a dairy-free dessert, people), they find a good balance of cold and creamy. For those from Philly, they are remniscent of a cream ice from Rita's Water Ice (but without the sugar and articfical colors and flavors). Wink desserts are naturally sweetened with a combination of stevia and monk fruit extract, so while they may not be overwhelmingly sweet, they hit your sweet spot just right.
Also?
They come in fun flavors such as Cake Batter, Iced Latte, Cocoa Dough and Cinnamon Bun.
Sometimes at the end of the day, I need something sweet. And by "sometimes" I mean "all the time." Wink Frozen Desserts are an indulgence I don't have to feel bad about. I don't feel I'm totally undoing my good eating habits. And as someone who has close friends and family who cannot eat gluten, dairy or nuts, I cannot express enough what an amazing option this is for them. Can you imagine growing up as a child watching all the other kids enjoying a dessert that your body just would not tolerate?
Well, now they can enjoy yumminess with the rest of the kids!
The great thing about Wink Frozen Desserts is that they are perfectly delish all by themselves. But, if you want to get a little crazy, you can MIX IT UP. Since I don't have a nut allergy, and I DO like to indulge a bit (especially after a nice long run), this is my little combo:
Are you even surprised?!?
So go ahead and indulge tonight!
