Hubby and I are enjoying the continued challenge of polishing our eating habits.
That's polishing, as in "refining."
Not polishing, as in "making more Polish [by the addition of kielbasa into one's diet]."
Healthy eating has been a journey over the past few years, one that was sparked by becoming parents. It's one thing to eat whatever you want and have it affect your health. It's another thing to teach small humans what it means to "eat right" and make sure their bodies are growing big and strong.
We renew this commitment each New Year, and this year is no different (as evidenced by my New Years Bucket List from last week). I spend a lot of time on the prowl for healthy yet tasty recipes, scouring my cookbooks and the interwebs for new inspiration.
2013 has brought me a goldmine of yumminess.
And the goldmine's name is Skinnytaste.
I'd been alerted to Gina's blog by my readers over the past few months, but never paid it any mind. Then I started seeing delectable pins popping up on my Pinterest homepage, many claiming to be healthy and leading me to the site. After more and more people encouraged me to try some of Gina's recipes, I made the leap last week and made no less than 3 of her recipes.
And?
ZOMG.
Best. Decision. Ever.
I don't know Gina, but I feel like Wayne and Garth meeting Alice Cooper:
I'm hoping in time we'll become BFF's.
If you are looking for MOUTHWATERING recipes that you can feel good about serving your family, Skinnytaste is where it's at. Gina posts all the nutrition info for each recipe, including Weight Watchers and Weight Watchers Plus Point values. The great thing is that her recipes are made with real food, fresh food. In the few recipes I've tried, I am inspired how Gina works with full flavors, lots of fruit and vegetables and whole grains.
Here are the recipes I tried this past week:
Chicken Taco Chili
Sausage Stuffed Zucchini Boats
Spinach Lasagna Rolls
Hubby was floored and can I tell you?
THE KIDS GOBBLED THEM UP.
As in: My girls. Picked up forks. And ate. With excitement.
Can I get a HALLELUJAH?
I'm already stoked for the Skinnytaste recipes I have lined up for the weeks to come!
I'd love to hear from you:
