Dezign with a Z Wall Decals {REVIEW and GIVEAWAY}

Design?

Not my thing.

Whether it's fashion or interior, I'm lucky if I can put two colors together and consider it matching. I have friends (like Making Lemonade and Life in the Sweet Spot, just to name a few) who make it look so easy. I pore over their posts, amazed at their craftiness and design savviness.

Let's be honest: I envy their skill.

Our bedroom, which we finally painted a year and a half ago, has yet to be decorated. We have nothing hanging on the walls. Not because we are struggling between themes or motifs, color palettes or textures. Nope. We just have no idea what to throw up there and not make it look like a first grader did it.

Our poor kids have suffered our design impairment as well. When we found out we were having Chica, our first reaction was not to go out and register for an entire nursery along with paint to match (actually our first reaction was shock and disbelief. But I digress).  We had no idea how to furnish our own bedroom, let alone the bedrooms of two beautiful little girls.

So, we've made due.

Let me be clear: We all have furniture. And curtains. And some knick knacks around each room to make it "home."  But we are severely lacking design. So when I was approached by Dezign with a Z to review one of their wall decals, I jumped at the chance. If even one of our rooms could be improved by the ittiest bit of style, it's a win.

Dezign with a Z let me peruse their online selection. I struggled over what kind of design I wanted to go with, eventually landing on the Floral Wall Decals. It seemed most fitting. They all looked cute, and I kept imagining where in the house I would utilize the decal. When my eyes landed on the Butterfly Branch vinyl wall appliqué, I knew it would be PERFECT for Chica's room (especially now that she is 4 years old and such a big girl.  ::SOB::)

I placed my order, and in no time at all, the tube with the decal arrived on my front porch.  When we finally made the leap to redecorating Chica's room, we unearthed the decal. I was happy to find the decal looked exactly like it did online. It was slightly smaller than I had imagined, but perfect for the space in Chica's room.

Hubby read the instructions (SO glad they sent along directions! It definitely made the process 1000 times easier), which were easy to read. Each decal comes with a small plastic scraper, which is what you use to transfer the decal from the plastic to the wall. With little effort, the tree came to life on Chica's wall! The branches have small detail, which Hubby had to slow down and pay close attention to, but it was worth the extra effort. We spent the next hour having fun "decorating" the tree with the reddish pink flowers, leaves and butterflies.

Chica was in awe.

Here is the finished result:

As you can see, we got a little fancy-schmancy and gave the butterflies wings by carrying the design over the corner to the next wall.

I was really happy with the quality of the wall decal, and would use Dezign with a Z decals again for decorating other areas of my home. Decals are an easy, inexpensive and FOOL PROOF way for Design Duds like us to make our house a bit prettier.
