How long have you been blogging?
Jersey Family Fun is a year old, but I was blogging for 6 months to a year before that. I've lost track.
Why did you choose your blog's name/theme?
Jersey Family Fun was the name I had on Facebook for a very long time. When I was ready to launch it as a blog, I struggled with the name. Then, it hit me that Jersey Family Fun was the best name. We cover all of New Jersey and we primarily blog about fun events and places families can go to.
Why did you start blogging?
I was frustrated that to find out about local family friendly events I had to search multiple on-line and off-line sources. I wanted to give families one place they could find it all. I also was surprised to learn there wasn't a central source to learn more about family-friendly attractions in New Jersey. Each attraction has it's own site but most of the time unless you are a local or can pay for major advertising you aren't aware a place exists. It's fun letting my readers in on treasures I've been able to find in New Jersey and the surrounding area.

ReplyDeleteIt is so nice of you to do all of these spotlights.
Thanks so much for the love and the highlight from you and Life with Kaishon. I'm so touched and honored.
ReplyDeleteGreat idea! I've often had the same frustrations in my own area... I'm sure that New Jersey Families really enjoy having Jennifer's blog as a resource.
ReplyDeleteHi! Jennifer! I am a Grandmom with a 11 year old Grandson, and I have read the publication "Metro Kids" for most of those years. I just read the March, 2012 edition, and your story "The School Book Fair", Your Opportunity for a Random Act of Kindness, and I loved reading it, and keeping the idea of sending in some extra money for those students who aren't able to purchase a book. For the past few years, whenever my Grandson would go on a class trip, I would send in extra money for another child or two, thinking that their parents gave their approval for the child to go on the trip, but maybe they didn't have the money to pay for it. It is usually under $10.00, so it is do-able for me, and it makes me happy knowing that another student won't have to stay behind in school as the others get on the bus for a trip. It was heart-warming to read your article, and I can only imagine how wonderful your Sons will grow into young Men with such a kind and caring Mom as you, Jennifer! We need many more people like you! Have a wonderful and healthy Spring/Summer Season ahead, you and your Family! Sincerely, Kathleen Keenan
