Dear Winter Olympics,
Hi. It's nice to meet you. I have been watching you every four years since I comng into this world. Every 4 years, I admit that I get very excited about your arrival. I become pumped to watch our nation compete in sports that I would never in my right mind participate in. I figure, "Those who can't do, watch. On TV." And I have enjoyed the few glimpses of sport I have had the opportunity to watch this season. The events are thrilling, wrought with the anxiety of, "Will they fall? What if someone gets hurt? Will USA come out with a medal?"
Now here is my problem.
While I enjoy your (painstakingly constant) presence on NBC, I need you to know that I REALLY miss my regular nightly television line up.
Like, a lot.
I'm not sure if there is a network conspiracy happening, but I've noticed that not only are you overriding my NBC shows, but all of the shows I watch on CBS and ABC are on reruns.
I blame this solely on you.
I miss Jim and Pam, Liz Lemon and Jillian Michaels. And, I'm wondering where "The Good Wife" is hiding. She's not even on NBC.
So, I will continue to cheer for America to win the Gold. But know that I will also be counting down every second until I can reinsert myself into the fictional realities of people and places that do not really exist.
It's what I live for.
Sincerely Yours,
I would like to add "NBC- FOR CRYING OUT LOUD- give us daytime watchers SOMETHING other than God-forsaken CURLING!! I mean, the first day was okay... but today is like day 10 of all curling all the time!!! I have now resorted to Lifetime originals and my DVR'd Teen Mom and Beverly Hills 90210 episodes."

Amen! I have caught up on all my recorded shows and have nothing new to watch. Don't get me wrong, I enjoy some Olympic sports, but I would like to watch something else too!
ReplyDeleteI KNOW, right? I don't even bother with the daytime anymore. I've been catching up on Criminal Minds. And I will be a Bitter Betty when Thursday rolls around. That's my 2 hour NBC line up. Arg!
ReplyDeleteI love some NBC shows too- but fortunately my two biggest indulgences are Lost and The Bachelor- go ABC! lol
