West Chester Grower's Market Weekend Review

It was a warm and sunny Saturday, and the Grower's Market was packed! Wall to wall people/dogs/strollers/produce lined the little parking lot. A local violinist spread music throughout the air for the market-goers. My hubby and I did our usual loop, picking up some lettuce and green onions. We hesitated over the Chile Spot, but we still have Habenero Jam left over from last weekend. So we'll wait on that! Ellen April had some $4 leftover/dented/discontinued soaps, so we picked one up (she thinks it Orange Sandelwood - either way, it smelled awesome). We were also excited to find HONEY this week (Bryer Apiary comes every 4th Sunday). My husband makes a honey beer called "Ceyser," and he was chatting it up with the vendor (unfortunately, they don't have QUITE enough bees and honey to get my hubby some wholesale quanities!). I'm presently sipping my coffee, sweetened with the honey, and it is deLISH. On our way out, we stopped by the tomato stand - the line was around the corner. It's not surprising - the tomatoes are big, beautiful and tasty. We got 3 before we made our way out.

Some great things are coming up at the Grower's Market, including a Father's Day Weekend Pie Eating Contest, a Sno-Cone Day, Ice Cream Sundaes, and local music! Check out the website for more info: www.westchestergrowersmarket.com
