{RECIPE} Sara's Pulled Pork Sandwiches

We have a guest submission for today's Simple Supper recipe! Yay!

Today's recipe comes from good friend, Sara Hill (nee Randall). Sara and I went to high school together, meeting through Young Life. She is one of my middle sister's dearest friends. Sara also grew up with my husband, so we have many great memories with her! She got married this fall to a wonderful man named Austin, and they are nearing the final chapter of Seminary as we speak!

Sara sent me this great recipe for Pulled Pork Sandwiches. I'm cutting and pasting the recipe from her email. It sounds delicious, so if you try it email me or leave a comment. I will be sure to pass it along.

Sara's Pulled Pork Sandwiches

3-4 pound pork roast (pork shoulder) (Note: 2 pounds serves six people)

Put salt and pepper all over the meat

Place meat into slow cooker

Mix the following ingredients together and then pour into the cooker:

  • 1/2 c water
  • 2T wostershire sauce
  • 2T apple cider vinegar
  • 1t cumin

Press start and cook for 7-8 hours on low or 4-5 hours on high

Take the meat out and put it into a bowl or onto a plate and shred it/break it apart with 2 forks. Pour the liquid in the slow cooker down the drain. Put pulled pork back into the slow cooker

Add 2 cups of BBQ sauce

Stir around and cook for another few minutes until it’s warm. (15-20 min)

Serve it up with extra BBQ sauce and rolls!!

This pork tastes AMAZING when complimented with Krista's Apple Slaw. IT'S SO GOOD!
